MOST INNOVATIVE ANAESTHETIC TECHNIQUES
EVERYONE CAN BE TREATED WITHOUT FEAR OR PAIN
At Medical-Dent Family Dentistry Clinic, we use innovative anaesthetic techniques that make your treatment stress-free and painless. Our state-of-the-art devices and methods used to treat you enable us to perfectly anaesthetise your tooth area.
INHALED SEDATION – NITROUS OXIDE (LAUGHING GAS)
A great solution is inhaled sedation with laughing gas, which is safe and reliable. Inhaled sedation is a mixture of nitrous oxide and oxygen. It is a very patient-friendly and safe method to combat fear and pain. And it has an additional clinical effect by improving breathing efficiency and the patient’s wellbeing.
Nitrous oxide is one of the first products used for general anaesthesia that has been used in medicine for more than a century. During this long period of use, no cases of hypersensitivity to nitrous oxide were reported. When inhaling the oxide using a special mask, the child is more peaceful, more willing to comply with instructions and the concentration of the gas in the air inhaled by the child is constantly monitored during the procedure. After the procedure, for a few minutes when the child breathes in pure oxygen, the remainder of nitrous oxide is effectively removed from the body. Treatment under inhaled sedation is not a method reserved only for children. It is also a perfect solution for older children and adults for whom visiting a dentist is very stressful.
Many our patients treated under nitrous oxide confirmed that their perceptible stress level during procedures was minimal. It is one of the most commonly chosen methods of anaesthesia.
THE WAND™ COMPUTER-ASSISTED ANAESTHESIA SYSTEM
The Wand™ – is a computer-assisted and syringeless device for administering anaesthesia before dental treatment. The solutions used in The Wand make the administration of the anaesthesia using the device completely painless. All this is thanks to a chip that controls the speed of fluid administration. The anaesthetic is administered under low pressure, which prevents a surge of fluid in the tissue and the associated pain. The anaesthetic administered using The Wand™ is gradually absorbed rather than injected under high pressure with a syringe.
Reasons why patients appreciate The Wand anaesthesia:
- painless administration of the anaesthetic,
- safety resulting from computer-assisted anaesthesia control,
- mental comfort and lack of stress using the procedure and afterwards.
PROCEDURES UNDER GENERAL ANAESTHESIA
General anaesthesia is a completely safe method that sedates the patient before any procedure. The most important step before a procedure is performed under general anaesthesia is dental consultation, discussion of computer scans performed in-house at our X-ray laboratory and very detailed history taking by an anaesthetist.
Upon administration of the anaesthetic, the patient falls asleep and two experienced teams of dentists and anaesthesiologists perform the procedure, constantly monitoring the patient’s safety. We offer you complete anaesthesiology facilities.
PAINLESS TREATMENT WITHOUT STITCHES
Lasers are used in dentistry both for diagnostic and therapeutic purposes. At Medical-Dent, we use state-of-the-art equipment manufactured by renowned companies. Our diode laser by German manufacturer KLARLITE is a surgical laser that we use to perform procedures that do not require stitching the patient.
The procedures are completely painless. We recommend them particularly for children when in need of frenulum incision or lingual frenectomy as recommended by:
- an orthodontist,
- a speech therapist,
- a paediatrician.
